Nearby residents tried to rescue girl trapped in a burning car but were unsuccessful. At least 4 people were injured, authorities said.
A 2-year-old girl died Friday in a multi-car accident on the 110 Freeway in Highland Park despite the efforts of her mother and neighborhood residents who tried to rescue the child from the burning wreckage.
